Pressbooks were sent only to theater owners to promote and advertise the movie and are extremely rare especially without cuts.This collection has been of the utmost importance to me and has been stored in a temperature controlled room for many years in a non-smoking home with 2 Hepa air filters and in the summer a strong dehumidifier.   Please note that these images were all scanned, so you have a perfect example of what you are getting.  I am cutting down on my collection and offering many rare pressbooks. Please understand that pressbooks were made to be cut up by theater managers for promotion and to place advertisements in the newspapers, so uncut pressbooks may be hard to find on many titles, and many have been sold off now over the years since Ebay and other auction sites have been in business since the late 1990's. A pressbook with minimal cuts (most of ours are uncut) still has value.  We do not believe in short descriptions and leaving it up to chance for your satisfaction. We try to list EVERY issue if there are any, instead of just saying "normal wear" or "slight use" or other general terms. We want you to know, since these are collectibles, exactly the condition of the pressbook (which is why we chose to purchase an industrial scanner to be able to scan the largest pressbooks). There is nothing more accurate than a scan.
Please also note that when scanning pressbooks, many of these were in newspaper resolution for the photos and advertisements which consisted of images made up of larger dots to be able to fit a newspaper's format and the scanner sometimes makes them look like the ads (especially faces) have very small lines or squares in them, this is NOT in the pressbook itself but a by-product of the scanning of this type of material and is not present in the listed pressbook, only the image we are showing here.
Finally, you may wonder why many of our scans (pictures of the pressbooks) state in pink letters "SCAN FOR EBAY" over some of the images. I have discovered that there are people copying these images and enlarging them and making prints to sell on auction web sites. So to prevent this illegal activity, we are forced to put some print over some of the better images, they are not on the items themselves.

Universal Pictures pressbook for
"THE PRIVATE WAR OF MAJOR BENSON
"
Starring Charlton Heston, Julie Adams, William Demarest, Tim Considine, Sal Mineo, Nana Bryant and Mary Field.
In excellent shape. The cover has separated from the spine on the lower left about one inch. Pressbook has been previously folded but has been flattened for over 20 years so it sits very flat. There is a very small micro-size hole right to the left of the word YETH on the cover, can't even be measured it's so small. Inside pages are beautiful, tons of great nostalgia and great inside stories and incredible advertising layouts.
This auction includes an original studio insert poster (14" x 36") from the film
(see last photo)! This poster is NOT a copy or reproduction but a studio original. While pressbooks are my main business, I am now including other movie collectibles  that I have amassed over the years. The pressbook in all of our auctions is the main item because that is my specialty. I do not grade or describe the condition of the posters as I am not an expert on movie posters, stills or lobby cards, it is up to you to study the photo as to the poster's condition. We guarantee that the photo posted here is a direct photo of the poster included (the poster image can be enlarged). Some posters have some kind of defect  whether it might be pinholes or writing on the back, blemishes, tears, creases, taped areas, an area with a rippled effect (probably from dampness, which can usually be seen on the scans, but not always) so please look very carefully as most of these have been used by theaters. On the other hand as I look through these, some are in great condition as well and a few look like they were never used. So it is up to you to study the photo.

ARE MAILED UNFOLDED!!! This is why the shipping/materials cost is what it is. I've never had shipping damage with these mailers, which actually cost me .65 per shipment and you have a nice size-fitted plastic cover so your pressbook stays in top shape for years, these cost me $.75 each. We take very good care of these collectables. PLEASE NOTE THAT I NOW GIVE YOU A CHOICE OF MAILING SPEEDS. IF YOU SELECT MEDIA MAIL, YOU ARE WAITING UNTIL THE ITEM SHIPS THE FOLLOWING MONDAY (all items are shipping the Monday after the auction ends,,,see last paragraph) plus about 4-9 days in shipping. Priority is usually much quicker, but we still ship everything on Mondays. If you are not in a hurry, Media Mail saves you .00. Priority is not cheap with this size (unfolded) package. I do NOT believe in making a profit on postage. In most cases, including the protective cover and large cardboard size, I lose a few dollars on shipping.
ABOUT FEEDBACK:
I have been on Ebay quite a long time. I have always been very fair with feedback and usually it is positive. My feedback was earned through alot of hard work trying my best to please my customers. You will note I have a few negatives now. You just can't please everybody. The feedback that I have received that is negative (3 out of about 1,000), one person never contacted me that they were sent a pressbook with a cut in it, I simply sent the wrong one. I certainly would have corrected the problem immediately if they had just told me. The other 2 are from someone who obviously did not read that I send my pressbooks out on Mondays and they used to go Media Mail, which was an additional 4-8 days. She expected them in a few days. If you have a problem, PLEASE contact me and I will do everything I can to correct an error. This is my personal promise.
