JUST in time to welcome Summer decor and antiques collecting into your country home comes this wonderful Repro Primitive style American wood Rectangle shaped painted Cutting/Cheese Board in simply wonderful Wedgwood Blue. Despite being new, it has the look of a precious patinated antique at a fraction of the cost of such a one! Please take a tour of the old looking, intentionally aged item in pictures above starting with relative size in my hand, third picture.
The handmade heavy wood long shaped board is just a tad nicer than plain shapes with an extended Lollipop Handle with hanger hole, giving visual interest, where your eyes just want to touch it all over before you even get to handle it! That is the feeling I got when I selected this for you on a buying trip that was by private invitation only for Spring open house. Everything then was considered pride and precious on the farmstead, and today we find the same joy in re-using these sturdy hand made wood items. Cutting Boards were a farm necessity in all early households with home cooking slicing up meats, chopping nuts, candied citron at holiday, and so on for delicious recipes.
This wonderful Cutting Board is made of a good heavy wood  (possibly maple hard wood for weight) painted and rubbed on both sides to simulate age, with knife realistic light cut marks random. Blue is precious, but an unusual Wegewood Blue is a simply superb eye catching hue one notch better! It has a goodly sized hole that would look great hanging off a real handmade old cut rose head nail if you have one.The edges are are lovely sanded smooth all over comforting feel to rub hands over gently.
Form follows function as the saying goes, and this Pantry Box, while serving useful as a primitive tool of days past, is now a lovely collectible desirable reproduction for your kitchen or pantry room area for interest. It measures 5.25" across, and a good foot of 12" long.You could mix this in with genuine antiques and from afar would be hard to tell it wasn't ages old!
