Our beautiful COLONIAL TRADITIONAL IVORY Floral Jacobean Ladies Short Gown brand new debut is glad to make your acquaintance again this Spring Season with a chilly/rainy start, please view the above pictures hung on "ladykin" figure indoors to see item. Each one I make is unique, never two pieces alike, to assure you are the only one wearing this beautiful 18th c fashion, and I have named this one "Spring Solstice". The pictures truly do not give this fabulous fabric enough justice as it deserves with its bountiful colors, which is why I have chosen to give you as many closeups as possible of the joyous florals. The layered hues of the flowers are fantastic, likewise are the intricate large wispy bold flaming type leaves.
A Short Gown is the accepted 18th c upper garment for a woman over her chemise, and we make ours over the top that our garment is better called Short Jacket with its formal patterning and flattering fit. It is fully lined in a hard working deep Forest Green cotton  fabric, and the Decorator Brocade on exterior is quite expensive fabric for a better middle class to upper class woman of the household. The colors are various browns, mixed golds, Navy Blue, and Maroon/Coral that all combine happily and are very vibrant. It is an opening day Outdoor/Indoor themed fabulous ShortGown sure to make an entrance over a solid Petticoat.
Our styling is open front pin closed on top with FREE brass coiled Short Gown Pin, free set shoulders I show you the curve, deep gorgeous cuffs which is our signature, hand finished, and a round front scoop neck. In the back, bottom central, you see my hand pulling out the peplum feature that provides you with beautiful movement and rear motion that floats, rather than pulls. Trust me when  I say our seamstress first quality is the best on the market hence the price,plus you may expect this to cover and fit you well and not hang like a cheap rag you see at other merchants who just sew a T-pattern and call it "good". We go the extra miles to earn your trust and cover your bust either fully pinned closed or on a warm day you may turn the lapels back for some air and it looks just as stunning. The cuffs earn you a business like finish to the arms 3/4 length just beyond elbow. You may close at the waist with an apron or another pin or 2 your choice of look.
As this item is not commercial and we make our own patterns and designs please use these measurements to obtain size:
We refer to "Spring Solstice" as an EXTRA LARGE. Down rear center seam top to bottom is 26". Underarm bottom curve to cuff tip is 11". Down the front panel, a little shorter at 23.5". This is so you can wear a rear bum roll if you like for emphasis on shape. With the garment pinned closed with a one inch lapover, I get 23" across when doubled over will provide a bust range of 46-50 inch quite comfortably. Please compare with something you already own is the best way, and heed that our Short Gown is more stiff like a formal fitting structured Jacket than a wimpy cotton rag with some "TV name from untrained sewer".(Compare to other non juried listings of Fantasy Garments.) This is a jury approved garment, and our shop is milesssss away from other cheap online seamstress promises.
All you need is a petticoat in solid matching color, apron or fichu extras your choice. You may wear it day or night your choice depending upon your First Person character, dress it up or down going to town.
