Welcome the new debut very neat and practical needs Reenactor Summer Camping gift this week, a lovely new repro Colonial Punched Tin Lantern for candle use at night time light with ring carry handle. Classic in every respect, you should not neglect your appearance!  A fresh new Lantern is just what you need to start a new season, no reason, read on.....
Please take tour of photos above. Opening photo shows you the full Lantern closed position, then carry on and review every angle view I did for you. Cylindrical and round in shape, the punches are distinct and well raised to create a rounded Starburst pattern on swing open Door and backside. The punches are slit lines and circle dots. The Lantern is grey heavy tin, with single candle socle inside with split side for wax release, with easy open and lock door with tiny latch. Top is a cone, with fluted smoke ring and round smooth double seamed carry handle. The bottom is solid with three felted round circle pads to prevent scratching of surfaces.
NOTE:  Although many people refer to this style as "Revere" Lantern generating from the famous night time ride "The British are Coming" tale, the actual lanterns used at North Church were square and much fancier. We now use Punched Tin Lantern and Revere lantern interchangeably to mean the same thing.
It measures 10.5" to top of ring handle, carries an Irvin brand name tag as new never used, Country Tinware. You'll want one to SHARE Night Light with your friends at camp or on your deck or patio for soft glow. Color of tin is a wonderful Medium Gray. Start the season off with a brand new clean lantern in your kit with no waxy mess residue as a used one. I call this one "Petite" as the slight smaller size makes it perfect to pack for travel and for a Lady to use!
