Description
Mark Cross Company founded in 1845. It started as a bridle, harness and saddle maker beforetransitioning
to luxury leather goods. It shut its door in the 1990's and remained dormant until 2011 when it was reopened by Neal J. Fox now producing in the same Italian factories as the company did over 40 years ago. In the 1950's Alfred Hitchcock released the movie "Rear Window" starring Grace Kelly...an overnight case designed by Mark Cross for the movie, was the earliest example of product placement. In the 1980's Lee Iacocca used Mark Cross leather upholstery in Chrysler automobiles.
This 1905 Mark Cross Company receipt for 1 set reins and 1 par. yoke straps, sold for .50 to Mrs. J. Peck, West Haverstraw, New York. The Pecks were prominent brick makers in New York. 8 1/4" x 10 3/4" receipt. Light soiling, creasing and yellowing. Please email with any questions.
