Description
The popular 4N35 Optocoupler serves to separate a signal source and its receiver, for instance in relay driving circuits. The chipset operates by triggering a phototransistor with an infrared LED within the chipset enclosure.
It is recommended that a current limiting resistor is used on the anode, treated as an typical LED. The value of the resistor is governed by the voltage you are planning to drive it with.
